"Sharra Frank's Little Honey Mirror Makes Mosaic Magic"

From Designer Pages,
3 Rings, A Product Blog for Architecture + Design

Little Honey

“Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” Everyone recognizes these fairy tale lines, but rarely is there a mirror worthy enough to play the role of the magic looking glass—until now. Minnesota-based mosaic artist Sharra Frank (herself a lovely character straight out of story lore,) has crafted an ornate, bejeweled mirror using Italian glass, freshwater pearls, vintage rhinestones, glass beads, and brass filigree— all the trinkets twinkling inside Donkeyskin’s magic walnut. Little Honey, embodies the best of fairy tale land and its associated splendors: otherworldly decoration, dramatic curvature, and glittering brilliance..."

Crave Worthy: Chandelier Mosaic
By CasaSugar, Feb 27, 2009

Carousel Wall Panel

“Minneapolis, MN, mosaic mosaic artist Sharra Frank has been creating custom mosaics for residential, commercial, and public spaces for the past seven years. Frank's work can be found in both private homes and exhibitions and galleries, as well as in the Gerard Cafesjian Museum of Art in Armenia. Her work is notable for its use of innovative materials, including pearls, tiny beads, and semiprecious stones. I was particularly taken with her Chandelier Mosaic, which was created with Victorian textured mirror glass, freshwater pearls, filigree, Italian glass, mirror, vintage rhinestones, and Czech glass beads. At four feet tall, this amazing piece would make a gorgeous centerpiece for a formal dining room."

Queen of the Mosaic: Sharra Frank Shares her Secrets"
By Secrets of the City, Kate Iverson, Sept 7, 2008

Painted Lady Window Hanging

“Gather all those chipped dishes and random single earrings. Mosaic artist (and Rake office neighbor!) Sharra Frank will guide you in creating a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Give new life to what you thought was just pretty, useless clutter and unearth the creativity we know you have inside you. No previous experience required. Shara offers hands-on classes in her studio which features an array of her completed pieces. While their intricacy may seem daunting, her mellow demeanor and know-how will surely appease any worries you may have. After all, Sharra began her stellar career on a whim and simply kept learning along the way. She'll be demonstrating some of her techniques on KARE 11's "Showcase Minnesota" TODAY at 10 am. Check out some pics of Sharra's most recent work on her website. Once inspired, sign up for a class. One starts tonight even, and there is limited space available. Stop by The Rake office Tuesday morning and show off your wares; we could use some more art on our cement walls.
